Tickover Ford Capri MK1 V8 Gunston

	The brief is to turn this brown (very nice condition) 1600 MK1 into a firebreathing 5.7 litre race clone, looking something like the orange Gunston race car from the 70's.


	After stripping inside and outside and engine bay in goes a fully welded 6 point cage with door bars and rear diagonal bar.
	Old arches cut out
	New steel ones welded and then filled to make nice and smooth
	Extra exhaust cut out made in steel and back seems all blended out... Final shaping of arches prior to priming




	Hi-Spec drilled vented discs with 4-pot calipers on front. Cosworth solid discs and calipers on back.
	Add some nice dark windows.
	New 5.7 litre V8 350 BHP 375 ftlbs torque New Tremec TR600 5-speed manual gearbox. Ready to slot in !
	And fitted in the hole !

	Number plates replaced with period black ones, and front lights and grill go in.
	Early dashboard and support frame go in the bin, so a MK3 surround can fit, with aftermarket individual gauges. Also black MK3 mirrors go on.
	Rear interior is boxed and carpeted over the 4-bar area, battery is hidden beneath. Front gets racing buckets and harnesses. And Below new WHEELS !
